Xbox One news: Major PUBG news, Xbox One X release reveal, Windows 10 update | Gaming | Entertainment

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is moving towards its final launch on PC, with much more expected following its early access departure.

Right now, fans have access to just the one map, with another Desert one being worked on by Bluehole Inc.

The game leaving early access should occur in 2017, along with the PUBG Xbox One release.

The console version will be a Preview Program build of the game and will need plenty of work before it’s the full version.

PUBG developer Bluehole is working on new features for the Xbox One release date and full PC launch.

In a recent blog post, the Battlegrounds developer said that it was testing new vaulting and climbing abilities.

This will make it easier to traverse the map and create new ways to ambush opponents.

Interestingly, Bluehole said that it will take at least a month to test these features, which means the full release might not happen until mid-November or later.

“For PC, we will be only focusing on doing our best to stabilise the launch build and we don’t have any plans to deploy patches to live servers except for this week,” reads a Bluehole blog post.

“However, there will be features like vaulting and climbing which will have a huge impact on the game and need to be tested for at least a month.

“We will be running test servers at least three times in preparation for that. Through these test servers, we would like to conduct large scale tests for the content and features that are not in the live build and create a foundation for a very stable official launch.”

Microsoft has made a surprise admission ahead of the Xbox One X release date.

Microsoft has warned fans that Xbox One X won’t be for everybody and that the Xbox One S will be the market leader.

“Xbox One S will be the market leader for us,” Xbox boss Phil Spencer told Gamespot. “It’s the more affordable console. It plays all the same games. It will be the console that sells.

“Whether you’re on a 1080p TV or a 4K TV, you’re going to have a great experience. But it’s not for everybody.”

Spencer compares it to the Xbox One Elite controller, which was for hardcore fans, but still sold well.

“It’s like when we built the Xbox One Elite controller, we didn’t try to say to everybody, ‘If you need an extra controller, go buy the Elite controller.’

“We sold a ton of those controllers. We know in the gaming segment, there are a lot of people who play games casually and there’s also people where gaming is their number one hobby.”

Xbox One has been given a huge new Windows 10 update for autumn.

The Xbox One update lets you personalise your Home, features an improved Guide, more notifications and a performance boost.

There’s even a hidden speed boost available to owners of the Xbox One with Kinect.

It should be noted that the Xbox One no longer asks for further confirmation when you try to turn it off with your voice.

It’s only a small update, but it saves users a few extra seconds, and further proves that Kinect only ever made life more difficult.

It’s also good news for Xbox One X owners, because the new update contains a host of new features to make the transition between consoles even faster.

“There are new options to help save time when moving from one Xbox One to another (including Xbox One X), so you can get back to playing faster,” Microsoft explains.

This includes the ability to transfer games to an external hard drive and plug it straight into the new console.

Other options include the ability to copy games and apps over your home network and download 4K content ahead of time.

But perhaps one of the most useful new features is the ability to filter games to easily discover Xbox One X enhanced titles.
