Black Forest Games has announced Fade to Silence, a “character-driven, group survival game.” It will arrive on Steam Early Access on December 14.
A new Steam page listing unveils the full game synopsis and details, along with a first look — check out the screenshots below:
The game takes place in a wintry post-apocalypse setting, as humans struggle to survive against both the elements and eldritch monsters.
“As the player you take the role of Ash, a natural but tormented leader. In that role you explore a post-apocalyptic, frozen wasteland to gather the resources necessary to establish a refuge for survival,” the description reads.
The Early Access release will introduce players to the game’s more basic concepts, including collecting materials, upgrading equipment, building your camp, and defeating horrific supernatural creatures. Fade to Silence promises dynamic, accumulating snow, real-time snow trails, and completely immersive weather effects.
As development continues, Black Forest Games promises “We are planning to regularly update the game content throughout Early Access, as well as features we believe will make the game even more enjoyable and richer.” Black Forest will be listening to user feedback as they consider new features to implement.
The plan is for approximately eight months of early access release followed by a final release in August 2018.
The Steam page currently does not list a price for Fade to Silence.
