Bungie admits to banning some Destiny 2 players ‘in error’

Destiny 2 maker Bungie has said it accidentally banned a number of players from the online shooter. In a post on Destiny 2 security, the developer said it had banned approximately 400 players on PC, saying that these users were given the axe for “using tools that pose a threat to the shared ecosystem of the game.” Bungie says it has unbanned users who were banned in error, and that these bans had nothing to …

Update, October 25: Bungie have issued a new statement clarifying their policies regarding Destiny 2 bans on PC. Rumblings have been going around since Destiny 2’s PC launch about some overzealous bans from Bungie, particularly those targeting third-party overlays ranging from OBS to Fraps. Bungie are removing a Destiny 2 gauntlet that “shares elements with a hate symbol”

Bungie have just revealed that they are removing a gauntlet from Destiny 2 that “shares elements with a hate symbol.” They say the similarities are not intentional, and they are working on the removal as quickly as they’re able.
