If you’re itching for more Fallout, that could just be the radiation. Either way, Fantasy Flight Games have announced a new way for you to return to the Wasteland, with Fallout: The Board Game.
It doesn’t feature in the board game, but Fallout: New Vegas is one of our best RPGS on PC.
The game aims to capture as much of the original Fallout experience as possible, with a choice of wastelanders including ghouls, super mutants and Brotherhood of Steel members joining the humans in the wasteland. As well as that, you’ll have a S.P.EC.I.A.L rating, various perks like Gun Nut and Fortune Finder, and Nuka-Cola caps to use as currency.
There are four scenarios available in the board game form some sort of mash-up between Fallout 3 and Fallout 4, featuring the former’s Capital Wasteland and The Pitt, and the latter’s Commonwealth and Far Harbor. But while the settings are predetermined, their layout is not, and maps will change with every playthrough.
Each scenario will also come with two factions who you’ll have to choose whether to help or hinder. Should one faction progress too far, the game will end, with or without a winner, so there’ll be a delicate balancing act to make sure you can get the most out of your prospective allies.
Fallout: The Board Game will be released in Q4 2017. If you want to learn more about the game, there’s a load more on Fantasy Flight Games’ website. If you want to catch up with the series, Fallout 4 Game of the Year edition releases next month.
