Destiny 2 Update 1.07: New PS4 and Xbox One patch as Iron Banner secrets are revealed | Gaming | Entertainment

The latest Destiny 2 patch arrived today on PS4 and Xbox One, but didn’t require everyone to log off the game.

In past weeks, players have been forced off the Destiny 2 servers, sometimes for long periods.

This Destiny 2 update was different though, and was really only launched to fix one big problem.

Players on PS4 and Xbox One should no longer see their game crash when they try to load into The Tower.

This is a big fix as it could directly affect Guardians trying to access the Destiny 2 Iron Banner event.

The only patch notes supplied by Bungie confirm this: “Fixed an issue that was causing crashes while loading into the Tower.”

There are still plenty of other issues that need fixing, especially the one that has stopped the launch of the new Prestige mode for the Leviathan Raid.

An exploit was found that made the run too easy, leading to Bungie pushing back the release until next week.

It follows news that Destiny 2 players have uncovered an Overwatch secret hidden within the Iron Banner event.

Accessible only by the best players, Lord Saladin references Overwatch character Reaper when players manage a 20-person kill streak.

“Die! Die! Di-*cough* Sorry I’ve been watching too many Iron Banner matches,” Lord Saladin exclaims (via Polygon). “What time is it? Shaxx? Shaxx, are you there? Can you get me a water? Stop yelling, it’s just a question. I’m not old!”

Overwatch character Reaper says “Die! Die! Die!” when players activate his Ultimate ability.

The reason for its inclusion is Destiny 2 is that Lord Saladin and Reaper are both voiced by Keith Ferguson.

The new Iron Banner features two teams of four players instead of five, while your fighting abilities – not your power levels – decide the outcome.

Bungie has also replaced Bounties and Ranks with an Iron Banner Engram, while Iron Banner Tokens are earned in every match.

Guardians earn more Tokens if they are on the winning side, which can be used to grab more engrams.

For those who are itching to compete, you must first complete the Destiny 2 campaign, which will then allow you to meet up with Lord Saladin in the Tower to begin the Iron Banner Quest.
